Farm Down Payment Fund and Old Remodel Payment Situation

September 26th, 2015 at 10:15 pm

$31,500.00 Starting Balance
+__,500.00 Deposit Added
-----------------------
$32,000.00 New Balance

Also, on the money we've been holding for the guy who remodeled our old house and then immediately went through bankruptcy before we could pay him, we were finally able to make a $5000 payment yesterday and then in 21 to 28 days we will be able to make the remainder payment of $36,000. I will be so glad to not have that money in our credit union account anymore.

I mean, yes, the interest we were collecting on it was nice, but I still didn't like the situation. With the $5000 he is able to open his business account and get all the proper licensing and then when that all runs through, he can then take the additional $36,000 and put it in the business and then he can pull from that gradually as he needs income since he is allowed to pay himself a salary.

What a mess this has all been and I am really glad to see it nearly done.

Are you feeling better? Is the financial mess of your contractor's affairs upsetting you? We're all concerned about how many days of being ill have totted up in the past 12 months in spite of the changes you've made. What explanation does the doctor offer? Is all this suburban farming of rabbits, chickens, ducks, turkeys, butchering, organic gardening, canning, freezing to improve health now crossing a line to detrimental to your health? I saw the word tallow and was alarmed that you plan to add making soap, lotions and candles.

Yes, I acknowledge my unanticipated medical issues have me oversensitive and I'm not looking to be negative, merely concerned. From the financial point of view it's ghastly. One of the medications costs $ 300. a month and too new to the market to be covered by insurance. My well thought out financial plan for the remainder of 2015 vanished in less than 5 minutes.

No, it's not upsetting me. I just want it finished. I don't like open-ended things.

I don't know how often I've been sick. I'm sick a lot. I've always been sick a lot. The doctors never know anything. I gave up on them for more than physicals or the major stuff years ago. If I quit doing stuff because I was sick a lot I'd never do anything.

I have help when I do stuff. It's not just me. My mother, my husband, my children all help with things. It's not that big a deal. I won't be making stuff with tallow until things have ended with the garden, but I will start rendering it in the crockpot. I'll have plenty of time in later fall and winter for making soap when I feel like it.
