For All You Swaggers Out There

July 31st, 2012 at 07:57 pm

I have saved up enough Swagbucks to cash in for 4 $5 gift cards to Amazon. Can someone explain the process of redeeming them a little before I go do it? I've heard something about daily limits on how much you can redeem. Do they send you the gift cards in the mail or do they give you a gift card link in email?

And then I've heard about gift card numbers getting stolen so you need to put them in your amazon account right away so that doesn't happen. But I've never had to do that, so how does that work exactly? Is there a specific place you go in your account? I don't want to use them yet, I want to save them up. Also, how long do these gift cards last once you have them in your amazon account? I'd like to save them up for at least a year.

To redeem your points for gift cards:

Swagstore --- Gift Cards -- $5. Amazon is usually on the first page of results. Click on the Amazon gift card. Click on "Snag This."

    Confirm your address.

Go to your email account and click on the "Verify" button.

    Repeat one more time.

*You can redeem two prizes a day of the same value, and up to 5 of the same value in the same month. So in other words, 2 $5 AGC's on Monday and Tuesday, then 1 on Wednesday and you'd reach your limit for the month for $5 AGCs. You still could redeem points for other gift cards.

Redeeming AGC's ... Roughly two weeks after you purchase your gift card you'll get an email telling you your prize is available. Go to your account and click on "My Gift Cards." You'll have to enter your password. There will be a redemption code. Copy that code.

Go to Amazon and enter your account. Click on Update Gift Cards. Enter your code and hit return.

---There have been problems in the past with the same code being sent to more than one person. IF that happens, then whoever redeems it first, has it. I haven't heard of that happening in quite a while though.

Once you put your gift card code into your Amazon account it will NEVER expire. You can choose whether or not to use the giftcard money for purchases or not when going through checkout.
