My old coin jar was a five gallon water bottle like you'd have on a water cooler. I put my change into it almost every day for several years. I never kept track and I never took anything out of it.
It was slightly less than half full when I went to cash it in before our move to Dubai. It was worth over $895. Therefore, my simple calcuation is that you get $400 per gallon of random coins.
