DH Got a Raise

Back in October when DH was hired at the new company it was mentioned he would likely get a raise in April. April came and went and nothing more was ever said. His paycheck from Friday had that raise on it. It'll be a difference of about $4730 gross a year. That might even be enough to get us back on track after all the new medical spending we'll be doing to get our credit debt paid off by year's end like we originally planned, instead of March or thereabouts. That would be nice.

    That's a $2.5/hr raise if he works 40 hours a week...

    Amazing! So happy for you! Raises seem to be few and far between these days ... I haven't had one in over 4 years, NT hasn't in nearly as long, and AS only got one because she got a huge promotion.

    uRabbit--He is an electrical field engineer in the Alaskan Oil Fields. And he works 22 days in a row (12 hours a day) and then 3 weeks off, lather, rinse, repeat. It is a good job, and it took him many years to get to this level of pay.

    Thanks, CeeJay and Petunia. He works really hard and is away so much of the time it is nice be compensated for it. I was not expecting it at all despite what they'd said in April.

    Ray--Thanks. I don't blame your husband for wanting to go back up. It really is such a well-paying industry.
