Lenscrafters Tried to Pull a Fast One

April 12th, 2011 at 04:30 am

I forgot to put this in my other post, but less than a month ago we bought glasses for my son at Lenscrafters. Today at school the lenses popped out. We took them in to have them fixed and the girl there tried saying they couldn't fix them. She said that wherever we had got them at they hadn't done something right and there was no way to fix them.

When I told her we had gotten them there less than a month ago and that we had bought the antibreakage package as well, she suddenly changed her tune and could fix them. Needless to say I wasn't very happy with her original lie.

We'll see if the repair holds. If not I am not above throwing a fit. Those glasses and frames cost $200. I don't care if insurance covered most of it. Glasses that expensive should not fall apart that quickly and if they did something wrong then someone in their glasses making department needs lessons on how to do it right. And their front counter people need lessons on telling the truth.

Wow, that's wierd. I've had glasses that didn't hold together well, but it was mainly just a matter of the little screws that kept coming undone. Each time I took the glasses off and folded them up, i guess they unscrewed a little. So long ago i got in the habit of jut folding up my glasses when i put them down on a table.

I've always gone to one doctor optometrist offices for annual eye exams but had been wanting to try a pearle or lens crafter becus i've heard glasses are so much more cheaper. I think last time i got glasees they were int he $400-something range, although one reason they're more is becus they're progressive lensese.

My family has had awful trouble with chain glasses sellers. Multiple times, at multiple different shops. Ridiculous, awful trouble. Now I will just buy from my expensive, but superb optometrist's office.

    Wow,
Bought two pair of glasses in May 2010 and another in September 2010, on a Lens Crafter credit card.
First it's not a bill me later, I found out after missing a month that I needed to make payments, to avoid interest charges.
I made minimum payments keeping an eye on my account to see when
    the promotional date was due.
I called GE, Lenscrafter's bank, for a pay-off of the first promotional amount.
Paid the amount, in full, to find a month later they split the promotional pay-off amount I made over the entire account. Meaning, I DIDN'T pay-off the promotion and will be charged interest on the account.
    I'm very dissatisfied with Lenscrafters
And, will not be doing business there again!

Lenscrafters is a total rip off they don't back up thier glasses without you buying insurnace which they don't tell you and they won't take care of their customers which should be number one on their list.and their half off was a joke it sims that when you choose a pair it only thirty, or forty percent. Irecommand not to shope for glasses there.
