I live, write, and garden in the PNW with my husband of 27 years, disabled daughter, college-aged son, and my 84-year-old mother. We have paid off $250,000.00 worth of debt (if you include the interest) in the last fifteen years and as of 6/12/2020 are 100% DEBT FREE!!!!
You will get it paid off. I feel some of your pain, I have a high deductible, very low benefit insurance plan and the baby bills are starting to roll in, I just had to write a check to the obstetrician for $1950.00 last week (and that's just for the delivery). Medical care is outrageously expensive...
I feel some of your pain too as our medical insurance doesn't have very good coverage, and we were making monthly payments on uncovered expenses for about five or six years. Hang in there.
As hard as it is to have that debt hanging over us, I don't resent it horribly, because I know that without the care I received I wouldn't be here today. It was worth every cent, but still...ouch.
It makes the increased household income exponentially (sic?) exciting. Gotta keep plugging away at it. Your ING account, FYI, is the finest $10 that I've earned.
