Well, I checked out the requirements to donate plasma and I can be on blood pressure medication and still donate blood as long as my blood pressure is no higher than 160/90. Since with the meds it runs at 120/80 or thereabouts I am fine. And I can be taking HRT, too, that's not a problem. And the anti-D that I take on occassion for sleep (low dose for sleep, quadruple the dose if taking as an anti-D) is also allowed.
Now I just need to finish up this course of anti-biotics that I am on, wait 72 hours and I can donate. I will call them next week to see about setting stuff up. They require a medical screening and physical exam before they okay you. Since I have never been to a country that's disallowed, never been promiscuous or used drugs, and have never had an STD or transfusion, I should be good to go.
I hope so. Even if I can't max out at $200 a month, even half that would be helpful. And DH should qualify as well and he could donate when he is at home, so that would bring in a little extra.
