DH Comes Home Tomorrow!

December 13th, 2006 at 04:53 am

And not a minute too soon. 23 days is an awfully long time. I do miss him so much on these really long shifts. The money is good, though, that helps some to compensate.

I spent $14.07 today on dinner. I woke up with a barking cough so decided maybe I shouldn't get my germs in the kids' food. So they had both breakfast and lunch at school today and then boughten dinner. Which reminds, I wrote a $20 check to fund T's lunch account.

I'm not sure what I'll do about breakfast tomorrow as it is Cook's Choice, which means they don't list what it actually is. Drives me crazy when they do that. But hot lunch tomorrow is something both kids will eat and then DH can cook dinner.

I am having a devil of a time getting through to my doctor. Half the time they forget to turn the answering machine off and its not one you can leave messages on, either. Since he is semi-retired, he only works 3.5 days a week. And the other doctor that I go to is a specialist, not for general sickness, so she can't help here. Maybe I'll just go to the clinic. I hate doing that, though.

    Thanks, everyone.

BA--My husband works on the North Slope of the Alaskan oil fields, above the arctic circle line. Normally he works 2 weeks on, 2 weeks off and he lives there in the barracks. His 2 weeks turns out to be 12 days after flight time is figured in.

This time he worked 3 weeks on and will be home for almost 2 weeks, so that he could be home for Christmas. If he'd done a regular 2 and 2 he would have had to work through Christmas. Plus they wanted him to finish up a project and asked him to stay the extra week anyway.
