I am a 48 year old stay at home mother. I have been married to my wonderful husband for 22 years, though we have been together for 26 years. Our daughter is 21 and our son is 17 and is home-schooled. We live in Washington state's beautiful most NW corner.
After thirteen long years, and nine years intensively working on it, we paid off a massive amount of medical debt, around $100K, and are now free of consumer debt for almost a year, though we still owe my mother some money.
In the past four years we have moved into eating 90% sustainably and humanely raised foods without breaking the bank. We raise chickens, ducks, turkeys, and rabbits in the city and have an organic garden. In 2012 I took up canning the produce from that garden. My ultimate goal is to grow all of the produce and most of the meat that we eat and to eat all that we grow.
