Thank You

October 27th, 2011 at 07:03 am

Today was a bad day. Just a really bad day, the sort where you just keep coming across people that are downright mean for no reason that a sane person can see. It's nice to know when days like this happen, I can come here and find like-minded people who have kind hearts and good intentions. Not financially related at all, but I am definitely grateful for this site.

SO sorry to hear that. I feel very lucky to have this sympathetic virtual community too! Makes me feel stronger to know I can come lean on you guys for support when I need to.

Hopefully tomorrow (27th) is a better day. We can be kind to you and snarky to the jerks, if you'd like. Big Grin

Sorry for your bad day. I hope it is getting better. I have been having a few of those. Well, maybe not bad days, but let me re-evaluate my life days. I too have had my share of mean people and I have decided that I don't have room in my life for those kinds of people, so I have been changing different aspects (jobs, where I shop, whom I answer the phone to, etc.) to accommodate my life. I have also learned to say no, and people don't like it when I say no.

I actually had a very close friend whom recently e-mailed me cause I told her no and she wanted to try to re-negotiate with me. In the email she specifically said "your a really nice person, can we talk more about it" and to "put myself in her shoes". Then, I seen her a few days later at a wedding and I heard her say the same thing to someone else "put yourself in my shoes", and I thought to myself, that maybe she should try the same thing. I mean afterall, sometimes our shoes are already filled with our own life's challenges.

So, I made a list of the things that make me happy (my kids, cooking, etc.) and decided that my time is for me and not for someone else to use.

It's been a great couple weeks.

CF--Yeah, I've been going through something similar with deciding that my time needs to be more for me and the family and a couple of close friends and to heck with outside people who try to foist their ideals and needs on me.
