I have good workout shoes, and good flip flops, but my halfway dressy/halfway casual shoes that I wear all the time have about had it. I have a wide foot and I usually end up with something by Dr. Scholl's. This particular pair I've had about eight years. I just kept replacing the insoles, but now the outer soles are breaking down and the rubber is starting to get gouges in it.
I am really resistant to getting a new pair, because I love these ones and am not sure I would be able to find something similar. They also look fine cosmetically, which is part of why I've kept them so long, that and comfort, but I've rolled my ankles a couple times because of the bad outer soles, so I know I need to do something.
I don't like buying shoes in summer, because it's harder to find black shoes and I really don't want white shoes or colored shoes. I like black because it goes with everything I own. I also don't like going to WalMart which is the only place that carries the Dr. Scholl's shoe around here. I won't buy shoes online. I have to try them on and make sure they fit and I don't want the hassle of mailing something back if it doesn't fit. In person you can tell they fit right away.
I'm not up for a WalMart trip just yet. The shoe department is all the way at the back of the store and it is a long walk and all the ride on carts are usually taken. Maybe in a couple of weeks when DH is home again. I'll set some money aside for them and go when I am stronger.
